The
Boeing Company developed the 777-300 in response to the needs of Asian carriers
operating high-density medium range regional routes. Not surprisingly, the launch
customers for this marque were All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways
International.
Thai
ordered six of the stretched 777 in a deal valued at US$900m with deliveries
commencing September 1998. Both Cathay and Thai specified Rolls-Royce Trent
890-series engines, each developing 81,000lb thrust.
The
Thai 777 fleet operate high-density regional routes, with an average utilisation
of between 9 and 12 hours daily.
We
are proud to have been contracted for this replica by Thai.
