55169 ANK Air Nippon B737-54K - now available

Air Nippon originally formed to serve the outer islands in Japan.  Air Nippon later joined the ANA group which is now ANK.  In 1991, ANK decided to replace the 737-200s and YS-11 by the 737-500s.  The B737-54K began service in late 1992, which at the time was the newest of the B737s.  This B737-54K carries 120 people within Japan.  ANK origanized a "Naming Contest" for this model, which "Super Dolphin" was decided to be the winning name.  This name implies that a dolphin is imprinted on the engine cowling.

This beautiful "Super Dolphin" model is our first release of 1/400 B737-500!  More details later!

55152 Canadian Airlines / Air Canada B767-375 - now available
"Transitional Livery"

One of the most recognized news in the airline industry last year was the merging of Air Canada with Canadian Airlines.  After the merge, Canadian Airlines is repainting some aircraft in a "transitional" livery that includes the maple leaf of Air Canada.  This new look is not expected to last more than 18 months.  Under this circumstances, Dragon Wings is able to have the license agreement by both airlines.  We are proud to present you this model only for this transitional period.  Please enjoy!

If you look closely at the tail of this model, you'll discover a special realistic feature.   The details of the APU air intake is first introduced in this B767.  Pay attention to the "Maple Leaf" logo on both sides; we have done a special re-touch to it.

55168 Continental DC-10-30 - now available

By 1975, Continental Airlines had dedicated four McDonnell Douglas DC-10s to services between the West Coast and Hawaii, annually carrying almost a half-million passengers on these routes.  In 1992, Continental's bright livery is replaced by a rather insipid "corporate white" livery.  International services were flown to American Samoa, Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand, and an affiliate, Air Micronesia, linked Hawaii and Japan with the many tiny Pacific Trust Territory islands.  Recently, Continental has a total of 28 tri-jets in service.  Thirty GE-powered Boeing 767-400ERs and ten 777-200s will replace the DC-10 fleet, starting in 1998.

We are proud to present this DC10-30 in great details. You can find an additional ventral landing gear in the center of the fuselage bottom, and the wings are in the right length which are longer than the previously released DC10-10. Furthermore a lock can be seen next to the passenger door, and what's more, the exhaust of the CF6 engine is at the correct length. Different CF6 engines have different exhaust length. Please enjoy our new release in realistic details !!

We use "Metal Magic" again for our American Airlines B747-123.  This time we applied serveral chemicals together creating a more dramatic metallic effect.  Pay especially close attention to the wings; they fit perfectly with the fuselage, there is no gaps in between like others!

55143 CP Air B747-217B - now available

CP Air operated four 747-217Bs in its stunning orange and red livery, both on scheduled trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic routes, and on charters.   All four 747s were sold to PIA and replaced by DC-10-30s.

This model is now available with a special arrangement.  As complimentary to our staff of MML and the expert - Andre, our CP Air B747-217B is first released in Canada;  thank you for all the affort and time put into this model!
cpa742-00.jpg (21021 bytes)

Our CP Air B747-217B uses the Dragon specialty effect "Metal Magic".  We perform "magic" by the application of a special chemical on this model creating the effect of real metal; our R&D staff found that different chemicals when used in combination can make different metallic effects.  Note this is different from methods that others may used, in which they rub the model harshly in order to produce the metal effect;  by doing so, not only the surface of the metal is extremely damaged, the shape of the model is also distorted.  Pay attention to our CP Air B747-217B model, due to the technology we used, the model is kept in best shape, also there are no gaps in the joining points when fitting all the pieces together.  As shown here, the model looks great!
